1. Web Standard Compliant - It's important as web designers to keep up-to-speed with the W3C. The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) created CSS to replace HTML tables, font tags, frames, and other early HTML elements. Today's sites are much less engineered, more efficient and download faster.
2. More design effects - CSS allows us more design effects than normal HTML. With HTML you can change the color, font and style of your content. With CSS you can change the background color, create borders, control all font and paragraph attributes, create "rollover" navigation and much more.
